About 9:30 I received a call from Becky Wood, I had been to her home during the day to drop off brownie for a bake sale they were having for her daughter Lynsey who has cancer. I told Becky that I had a baby crib and if she needed anyone to tend Lynsey's baby I would be happy too. Becky said that the whole bunch of them were very tired and not feeling well and Lynsey had, had a treatment the day before and they had, had it. She asked if I would take the baby. I was surprised and a bit worried because I wasn't ready to go to Sarah's for a week and was ironing and packing but I said sure I would love to. I had to leave by 9:00 the next morning to get to Tooele and take Dan and Sarah to the airport by noon.

Little Jane arrived and was a beautiful baby with the full head of hair in pig tails. I hadn't ever seen her before. She is three months old and had the sweetest smile. I felt rusty as a new mother but Jane and I settled in with bottles, burping and diapers. I love how cuddly and cute little ones are. It was such a blessing to me to have that sleep over with Jane. Not much sleep but a special feeling of well being. It's funny how when we think we are going to be the one that serves we always end up being served. I didn't get to hold my own little grand daughters but my arms were filled and so was my heart. Thank you Little Miss Jane.

kathyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09844110137606445572noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133060827365959140.post-50660148787946529722010-04-30T06:20:00.000-07:002010-04-30T06:32:08.591-07:00Women's Conferece with my beautiful and fun daughters

We have had amazing talks, food, and fun. Today was so good. It was our ward conference, Bishop Keller spoke he was so loving and kind. He quoted Elder Neal A. Maxwell. "One's life... cannot be both faith-fille and stree-free...Therefore, how can you and I really expect to glide naively through life, as if to say, "Lord, give me experience, but not grief, not sorrow, not pain, not opposition, not betrayal, and certainly not to be forsaken. Keep from me, Lord, all those experiences which mae Thee what Thou art! hen let me come and dwell with Thee and fully share They joy!

Real faith...is required to endure this necessary but painful developmental process."

I went with Sister Marsing to see sister Rienheart who in the hospital with blood clots in her lungs.

Janet Pattrick called to remind me of Bounco, she asked me how Christmas was. I told her about being sick, getting the wrong percripsion, and getting a visit from Bill. She told me that Tom gives Bill credit for being him back into activity by being a home teacher that came every month and helped he come back into activation.

I was very happy to hear such a good thing and know that Bill has done many good things in his life. I didn't know about this one, that made me happy.
kathyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09844110137606445572noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133060827365959140.post-27202754780562798602010-01-03T19:00:00.000-08:002010-01-10T16:26:08.743-08:00The Weather has been cold, the snow is frozen and not melting. Christmas was a hard one this year. I was ill, I had a visit from the green eyed monster, my sweet little niece that got tangled up in a bad situation ended up in the poky. Kathryn and I had a visit from Bill Painter. He looked healthier and happier which I was happy about. He didn't seem any different. I know that the Lord stands ready to welcome him back with open arms, I don't think he is ready and that hurts.

Today was a cold be beautiful Sabbath day. It was fast and testimony meeting. I fasted for my dear friend Dennis Polmen he is so very ill. He wrote me the most wonderful letter which has giving me a lot of peace. He has, had such a struggle with his health and had to have surgery this week. I haven't heard how it went. No news is good news.

I taught my last Family History Class today, it went well. At Relief Society I was given the "Shining Start" Award, which I was honored but also feel a bit sad. I needed the blessing in heaven and now feel like I have to do so much more.

I had a funny thing happen, I took the wrong meds for a whole week, the drug store got the bags mixed up. I am so thankful that it was only for stomach acid. I have cought myself from sleep and people but now I have the correct meds I am feeling better.

I have been very impressed with President Uchtdorf conference talk. He said "Love is the defining characteristic of a disciple of Christ." At the heart of joy, you will find the love of good things"

"The greatest of all good things is God." Though we are imcomplete,God love us completely.'

Though we are impertfect, He loves us perfectly". " Though we feel lost and without compass, God's love emcompasses us completely." "We are improtant to God not becasue of our resume but becasue we are his children." " He loves everyone of us even whose are flawed, rejected awkaward, sorrowful, or broken." "God's love is so great that He loves even the proud, the selfish, the arrogant and the wicked." What his means is that, regardless of our current state, there is hope for us.' "No matter our sorrow, no matter our mistakes, our infiniely compassionate Heavenly Father desires that we draw near to Him so that He can draw near to us." "The closer we approach HIm, the more profoundly we experience love." "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

I want to do better this year love is the great commandment, I want it to be the center of all and everthing I do in my faily, in my chruch calloings, and in my job.

I am so delighted with my daughters and son in laws, they are so good to me and help me and make me happy. No one could have more excellent, beautiful, smart, talented and wonderful grand children. I love them all so much.

"kathyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09844110137606445572noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133060827365959140.post-11711994050516843472010-01-03T17:34:00.000-08:002010-04-23T18:25:05.681-07:00Kathryn found one I have not posted.
Happy New Year. I have a feeling this is going to be a great year.

I finished reading Macbeth today. I'm gald that my book club choses different types of books and can't wait to hear what everyone thought.

We had a great fast and testimony meeting. I gave my last Family History Lesson in Sunday School and was given a "Shining Star" recognition at Relief Society which was very nice but now I will have to do a lot more to full the glory gap. I feel like when I get recognition pulblicity it takes away my blessings in Heaven.

I had a hard Christmas this year and lost sight of the true meaning. I was ill with a bad congestion in my lungs. My dear sweet neices, who I love and worry about, made a mistake and got in a lot of trouble and ended up in the pokey. To make matters worse my old green eyed moster got control of me and I felt like I was being left out and my ablilites were being demished.

Bill Painter came to Cedar City and took Kathryn and I to lunch. As much was I think I am over all the sorrow and hurt, I'm not really. I was glad to see him looking so good and healthier than he had for a long time. He wasn't any different in actions he was just the same old Bill. I want so much for him to turn to the Lord whos arms for streached out waiting for his return.

He did recognize the children with a Christmas Card and some money which was very nice and much appreiacated.

The weather has been cold, very cold. The first snow is still on the ground and frozen hard. I have been ill with a congestion and had gone to the doctor the Monday before Christmas. Dr. Potter told me everyone has to died of something. He gave me a precription, I went to have it filled and took it faithfully. I was still very ill couching so hard everytime I layed down. I didn't sleep well. When I got home I had a call on my answering machine for Smith Drug Department.

It was Sunday so I didn't want to call. When I was putting away my things I notices that my perpristion said it was for Jan Thronton. I did call them then and they didn't know what to do so they called me back and told me that the good news was that they meds I had been taking was for a acid stomach and wouldn't hurt me. Theyneeded me to bring it back them right then and they would give me mine, which Jan had brought back when she recognized the the pill wasn't the right size or shape. I have been feeling better now I am taking the right meds.

This was fast Sunday so I fasted for my special friend Dennis Pollman who is having so much trouble with his health. It's serious and he was having surgery this week. I really worry about him and hope he is doing so much better.

I have had a prayer and concern answered which gives me comfort, peace and a wonderful feeling of joy. I have been worried about my SUN Center leaders, I haven't really bonded with them. I have been needing some thing special. I read President Uchtdorf conference talk and have been doing a lot of soul serching. "Becauselve is the great comandment, it ougt to be a the center of all and eveything "I" do in my family, in my churchkathyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09844110137606445572noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133060827365959140.post-49559985203883117912009-11-17T15:18:00.000-08:002009-11-17T15:24:28.704-08:00I have been feeling bad because one of the VISTA Volunteers that worked in my office a few years ago, took her own life. She was a talented violinist, mother of 2 little girls and a great husband. She and her family lived in Salt Lake City and I haven't seen her for a long time. I didn't know that she was ill with a mental illness. She was in the hospital under the suicide watch. It hurts to think things were so bad for her that she would leave her little girls. I sure did love her and she was a women of many talents, intelligence and kindness. I admired her so much and I will miss her so much.kathyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09844110137606445572noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133060827365959140.post-700964263352322452009-11-12T15:44:00.000-08:002009-11-12T16:24:52.047-08:00Yesterday was a very busy day. The Mondays in November the SUN Center has the Bread an Soup Dinner. There is so much to do to prepare each week we have to set up all the tables and chairs, get the posters made and out, get different volunteers to set it, set it up, serve, clean up and put all the tables and chairs up. It doesn't sound like much but it takes a lot of time and many helpers.

Yesterday we also had to put the Angel Tree up, get all the angels cut, punch holes, tied on a ribbon to get them ready to hang on the tree. Get the child Christmas wish written on. It was up to the last min for everything. Thank goodness we I got all the angels wishes done on Sat. at home. We have 25 children and each child has 5 angles on the tree. Most of my volunteers were busy with their classes, test and illness. The project leader Lynn was suppose to come and bring volunteers at 1:00 he never showed. I found out later he pulled a muscle in his neck and couldn't get up off the floor until one of his friends came and found him 5 hours later.

Everything turned out very well. We had 380 people come to the soup dinner we had so many people that we ran out of soup and bread and had to use some buns that a lady had in her car from a church dinner. We had a piano fight. I had asked two different girls to play the piano, they both showed up on the same night. The one was already playing when the other one showed up. She is from Korea and was very upset. She throw her books down and ask the girl who was playing what she was doing, she responded that she was playing the piano. That her name was on the sign for the evening. She came me and I was able to get the one playing to come next week. We had one almost fight with an old lady and one of our more bossy servers. The lady wouldn't get in the line after being told not to kindly a few times she did get in the line but when she got to the server she wouldn't take the soup saying she wonted the man to serve her, the one who was there before, which was Brad King. The service put the soup on the table and tried to go on to the next person but the lady said very loudly, " I will not take that soup", the lady ask her why and she said "It has corn in it", all the soup had corn in them, she really made a stink and finally it came out that she had and alergy to corn.kathyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09844110137606445572noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2133060827365959140.post-82601859767434397182009-11-08T19:20:00.000-08:002009-11-08T20:07:48.789-08:00Beautiful Fall Sabath DayThank you dear Kathryn for assisting, no, for doing all the hard work to get me on this blog spot.

Kathryn is amazing, she can do everything. She does a scrapbook page each day, they are wonderful pages.
I also want to be like Callie, committed to a daily routine of keeping a journal. She takes a picture each day. This month she has done a special project, each day she has a theme of gratitude for blessings with pictures of what they are thankful for. She sent me a book of my visits in Michigan. I love it so much. It is a treasured gift.

I am thankful for my tremulously, beautiful, talented, wonderful, delightful, loving, kinds, inteligent daughters.

It has been a beautiful fall Sabbath Day. We had Stake Conference last evening and this morning. It was the broadcast and the messages were powerful, timely and inspired. Sister Liftter talked about her pioneer heritage from the Southern Utah Area she called them her foundation of faith. I liked that Foundation of Faith and am going to name the pioneer book I am writing "Our Pioneer Family our Foundation of Faith". Brother Cook and Brother Irving talked about having our own personal faith and testimony, how it can be developed with starting the day with meaningful prayer, listening for answers to prayer, studying the sciptures and strengthening our families, with homevening, family prayer morning and night. Brad King and President Potter and Bro Dinklmen and Rachael Powell spoke last night they did such a great job. Brad talked about being nicer in all situations, which is very needed.

Tami King invited Mary Worthen and I to come over for lunch. It was a great lunch and it was so nice to relax and just visit. I love all those dear people.
Sarah called me and we visited for a while it really helped to have someone to talk to while I was ironing my cow aprons for the Bread and Soup event tomorrow. I didn't get time to do them yesterday. I worked in the yard on the leafs for 6 hours and got 12 bags it was back breaking at least it felt that way. I picked the apples then got cleaned up and went to conference. When I got home I started on the apple sauce. I tried using the cooker on my glass top stove because I was using pint jars and felt like it wouldn't be to heavy. It worked, but I ran out of time and had to stay up until 1:00 a.m. until it was finished cooking.

At 11:45 I got a phone call, it turned out to be Rik Vasques of in Coloado, he told me some very sad new that Billy Brown had past away, he was very upset, me to. She was my VISTA volunteer a few years ago. Now she is married to Mr Brown the High School Band teacher and they have two wonderful little girls. Billy is a talented vilion player. They live in Salt Lake City. I am so upset about this. I don't know what I can do but cry. So many sad things.kathyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09844110137606445572noreply@blogger.com0
